This was an amazing visit! The ticket was affordable, there was no crowd, and the items exhibited were well marked. I went primarily to see the Artemis of Ephesus statue, which was as amazing as I’d …Full review by LesaCooks

We toured this museum on our own without a tour guide. The museum was not crowded, no big tour groups at all. We spent nearly 1.5 hours here taking our time to explore and read the descriptions. Ther…Full review by Bean-Buggles

Hi, There are two entrances of Ephesus: the main gate is the North-West one (near the Grand Theatre), and the South-East gate where coaches of tourists always drop the people there to let them walk downhill to the main gate. You can choose from which gate you want to start exploring the city. There are big parking lots at both two gates. :) (sorry if my answer didn't help)
What day of the week (if any) is the Museum closed in May 2016?

The archeological site is open all days with good times as a previous poster has informed you. The Ephesus site is just a short ride from the city of Selcuk. A bus goes there from the Selcuk bus station or you can use a taxi. It only takes a few minutes to get from one to the other. The site can be called an open air museum. You asked about the museum which is actually in Selcuk. It will be warming up during the daytime by May so being there early will be cooler also. It is a museum which has things dug up in the site of Ephesus. The museum has similar hours to the ancient city of Ephesus and is also open all days. Many visitors stay in Selcuk for two or three days and spend much of one day at Ephesus (Efes in Turkish). Another day can be used to see other things in Selcuk which is a very nice small town with lots of hotels and restaurants and shops. A castle is on top of a hill on the edge of the city where you also see the ruins of a very famous church built in the 500s. Other tourists who visit Ephesus come from a cruise ship or stay in the resort town of Kusadasi. Good luck. Get to Ephesus early before the tour buses show up for a better look at the ancient city.
A couple of questions as our cruise ship arrives at 2 in the afternoon and leaves at 9 in the evening.... so a dolmus is really out... 1. What time does the museum close. 2. How much does it cost to take a taxi from the port to the Ephesus Museum 3. Are taxis easily available in Selcuk to take us back to in the early evening to the cruise terminal Thanks in anticipation for your help. Ken
