Bangladesh has objected to a speech that its ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina made from India and asked New Delhi to stop her making "fabricated" comments, its foreign ministry said on Friday.

Bangladesh has formally protested to India over Sheikh Hasina’s statements, calling them false and hostile. This follows protests and vandalism targeting Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s house in Dhaka. The Bangladesh Foreign Ministry has demanded that India restrict Hasina’s speeches.

MEA also clarified India's position regarding remarks made by Sheikh Hasina, saying the comments attributed to former Bangladesh Prime Minister were made in her individual capacity and that India had no role to play in it.

India has summoned Bangladesh's acting High Commissioner, Nural Islam, to address ongoing negative portrayals of New Delhi by Dhaka. Indian officials expressed regrets over comments from Bangladeshi authorities that hold India accountable for internal issues.

In a strongly worded statement, India Friday said comments attributed to former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have been made in her individual capacity and New Delhi has no role to play in it.
