Carter Verhaeghe had his fourth career hat trick, Sam Reinhart scored his 31st goal and the Florida Panthers beat New York 6-3 on Sunday night to end the Islanders’ winning streak at seven games.

Sam Reinhart forced a turnover in the Islanders zone and fed Carter Verhaeghe in front of the net. His quick forehand-backhand move cleared the top of the net for a perfectly placed shot under the crossbar, giving the Cats a 1-0 lead just 39 seconds into the game.

After losing a two-goal lead in the second period, the Florida Panthers rallied back to defeat the New York Islanders 6-3 on Sunday night at Amerant Bank Arena. On the back of Carter Verhaeghe’s first hat trick of the season,
