Reliance Retail has launched an app in India to sell fashionwear from China's Shein under a licensing deal, almost five years since Shein's app was banned in the country after getting caught up in a diplomatic tussle.

Isha Ambani-led Reliance Retail has launched a separate app for Shein, which was launched by the Mukesh Ambani-led company on Saturday morning.

Shein has restarted its India operations in partnership with Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd., as the fast fashion seeks to tap buyers in the world’s most-populous country where it was banned in 2020 on on security fears.

Shein's re-entry to the Indian market comes with strict terms, which include saving all data within the country.
