The San Francisco Giants are beginning the process of trimming down their spring training camp. As first reported by Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, the Giants have made several moves which involve some high-profile prospects within the organization.

Eldridge, 20, made a notable first impression during his first big league spring training, hitting a 450-foot home run in the Giants’ Cactus League opener against the Texas Rangers. Despite that impressive swing, Eldridge went 2-for-11 with eight strikeouts during the few plate appearances he received.

For the first time since their 2014 World Series win, the San Francisco Giants may finally have a clear path forward. Hiring team legend Buster Posey as their president of baseball operations may have been their biggest addition of the offseason.

With spring training rolling along for the San Francisco Giants, the team is focusing on preparations for the upcoming season. This winter, the Giants made a couple of notable moves to hopefully improve a team that has been struggling the last several years.
