When officers knocked at the unidentified suspect’s apartment at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, the suspect opened the door with a raised handgun, according to the police department.

The Colorado Springs Police Department said they received multiple reports of shots fired near Astrozon Boulevard and South Academy Boulevard, near Sierra High School on Wednesday afternoon.Police said they arrived to learn at least one suspect shot at a vehicle that several people were inside of at the time.

A judge has dismissed a federal excessive force lawsuit against a Colorado Springs police officer. The lawsuit was brought by a man who broke his neck after the officer used a Taser on him during a chase.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado, Deanna West, 38, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to one count of maliciously conveying false information about a threat by means of fire.
