Paige Bueckers returned to form with 18 points to lead UConn women’s basketball in a 101-59 rout of Butler at the XL Center on Sunday.

UConn women's basketball overwhelmed Butler on both sides of the ball Sunday in its final tune-up before resuming nonconference play on Thursday.

Paige Bueckers had 16 of her 18 points in the first half as No. 6 UConn defeated Butler 101-59 to extend its Big East regular-season winning streak to 32 games.

Butler (12-12, 2-9) was led by Kilyn McGuff’s 17 points, including her 1,000th career point early in the second half. Riley Makalusky added 10 points for the Bulldogs, who struggled with turnovers, allowing UConn to score 25 points off 15 first-half giveaways.

Despite poor shooting from Paige Bueckers, the UConn women's basketball team defeated DePaul thanks to Azzi Fudd, Kaitlyn Chen, and Sarah Strong.

The game remained competitive early, with DePaul closing the gap to 23-20 in the second quarter. However, UConn responded with a 17-4 run to seize control by halftime. The Huskies’ outside shooting played a key role, as they shot 54.5% (12-for-22) from beyond the arc, with Chen going 3-for-3 and Fudd 4-for-7.

As Paige Bueckers joins the 2,000-point club with UConn women’s basketball, it’s a good time to forget ‘what-ifs’ and appreciate what is.
