Gov. Brian Kemp’s lawsuit reform package passed the Georgia House by a single vote Thursday afternoon only after three Democrats broke ranks and voted for it. One of those was Johns Creek Democrat Michelle Au, an anesthesiologist. She had no comment after the vote.

An effort to expand how you lay your loved ones to rest in Georgia passed its second floor vote, putting it on its way to the governor’s office for approval.

Georgia is one step closer to overhauling civil lawsuit rules or tort reform. Senate Bill 68 is one of the most debated bills this session.
