A group of FBI agents sued the U.S. Justice Department in a lawsuit on Tuesday, asking a federal judge to step in and stop the publication of a list they say the bureau is actively compiling of agents who worked on Jan. 6 cases or helped investigate President Donald Trump while he was criminally indicted.

The FBI agents said in the lawsuit that any effort to review or discriminate agains employees involved in the Jan. 6 investigations would be “unlawful and retaliatory," and a violation of civil service protections.

FBI agents who worked on the Jan. 6 probe are suing the government over plans to review the FBI workforce and agents who may have worked on the investigations.
