U.S. stocks are drifting around a record on Thursday amid a relatively quiet day on Wall Street. The S&P 500 was 0.3% higher in afternoon trading and on track to surpass its all-time high set early last month after coming close the day before.

Tech stocks dominated the list of biggest gainers after President Trump unveiled The Stargate Project, a new company formed by Oracle ( ORCL ), OpenAI, SoftBank and MGX, which will invest up to $500 billion in AI infrastructure over the next four years.

U.S. stocks rose to a record Thursday as Wall Street regained some of the momentum that catapulted it to 57 all-time highs last year.
