McNeese's Will Wade is the Wolfpack's new men's basketball coach. The school announced the hiring Sunday, a day after Wade's McNeese team lost to Purdue in the second round of the NCAA tournament. An introductory news conference for Wade is scheduled for Tuesday,

Trey Kaufman-Renn had 22 points and 15 rebounds, and the Purdue Boilermakers used a fast start to roll to a 76-62 win over McNeese in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

McNeese student manager Amir Khan watched his No. 12 Cowboys take on No. 4 Purdue with one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. Oscar-winning auteur Spike Lee, a St. John's fan, sat next to Khan during the first half of Saturday's Round of 32 game in Providence, which is such a cool meeting of two icons.

Purdue is in the Sweet 16 for a second consecutive year after an impressive 76-62 win over McNeese State in the second round of the 2025 NCAA tournament on Saturday. The Boilermakers jumped out to a 20-8 lead in the first seven minutes of the game and never looked back.
