New York Gov. Kathy Hochul has signed a bill to shield the identities of doctors who prescribe abortion medications, days after a physician in the state was charged with prescribing abortion pills to a pregnant minor in Louisiana.

Gov. Kathy Hochul has taken another step to protect New York doctors who prescribe abortion pills after one was indicted in Louisiana.

A Louisiana grand jury indicted a New York doctor and a Baton Rouge-area mother Friday on felony charges for allegedly causing a criminal abortion by giving her pregnant teen daughter medication obtained through the mail.
