Twilley was runner-up for the Heisman Trophy during his time at Tulsa before he was picked by the Dolphins in the 12th round of the 1966 AFL draft. While he was also selected in 14th round of the NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings, Twilley chose Miami where he spent his entire 11-year professional career.

Former Green Bay Packers kicker Mason Crosby has retired from the NFL after 17 seasons, he announced Tuesday on his radio show, "The Mason Crosby Show."

Two-time Super Bowl winning center Dan Koppen was named the new head coach of La Salle Academy’s football program, the Rhode Island school announced. Koppen takes over the school’s 116-year old program. Koppen, longtime center for Tom Brady and the Patriots, is eager to get started.

Original Dolphin Howard Twilley played 11 seasons in Miami, catching 212 passes for 3,064 yards (14.5 average) and 23 touchdowns.
