Union leaders scheduled strike-authorization votes for Jan. 29 and 30 against King Soopers stores in metro Denver.
King Soopers workers in the Denver area will vote on whether to authorize a strike after contract negotiations failed. Votes are scheduled Jan. 29-Feb 1 in the metro area, Colorado Springs, Boulder, Broomfield and Pueblo. The union said specific times and locations for the vote are being given to grocery store workers directly.
Unionized King Soopers workers in Broomfield and Boulder counties will join their peers from around the Denver metro area, Colorado Springs and Pueblo next week to vote on whether to hit the picket line.

A local King Soopers gas station has opened back up after the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said the gas station would remain closed for an extended period of time for a shooting investigation.
