Lauren Boebert Faces Censure Resolution Over 'Pimp Cane' Comment
Rep. Al Green disrupted Donald Trump's joint congressional address Tuesday. It's not his first time countering the president, or leading a protest.
Mayra Guillen, the sister of slain U.S. Army solider Vanessa Guillen, announced plans to run against Rep. Al Green for his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in response to his interruptions of President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress last week.
The longtime congressman from Texas stood and shouted as Donald Trump spoke Tuesday night, and then was escorted from the chamber.
Green interrupted Trump at the start of the speech as he started speaking, “You don’t have a mandate,” Green said before Republicans booed him.
The censure passed largely along party lines, with 10 Democrats voting with Republicans in favor of the resolution and two lawmakers voting "present."
