The Houston Texans made a big change to their coaching staff on Friday. They parted ways with offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik after two seasons. The offense had been up-and-down during his tenure and even though the Texans won two playoff games these last two years,
C.J. Stroud, who dealt with a knee injury throughout the game after taking a hit in the first quarter, went 14-of-22 with 245 yards. He was sacked eight times, though, as Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo called several blitzes in the second half. He still had some nice scrambles, getting 42 yards on six carries.
On Saturday, Stroud will be trying to stop Mahomes from winning a fourth as the Texans play the Chiefs in an AFC Divisional playoff game. Stroud was asked this week by reporters what it’ll be like to face off against Mahomes and the Chiefs in the postseason at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
