United States President, Donald Trump on Tuesday fired two Democratic commissioners at the Federal Trade Commission, FTC, in another major test of the independence of regulatory agencies. The White House confirmed the sacking of Democratic Commissioners Alvaro Bedoya and Rebecca Kelly Slaughter.

Trump has worked to overhaul the government by pushing out federal officials and drastically downsizing agencies through the Elon Musk-led DOGE.
