An EF-1 tornado with 110 mph winds touched down in Jackson County, Tennessee Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service confirms.

An EF-1 tornado hit Jackson County as a severe storm moved across the region Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The National Weather Service confirmed an EF1 tornado touched down in Jackson County on Thursday night and later confirmed two additional EF1 tornadoes touched down in Putnam and Overton counties.

The tornado touched down at about 6:10 p.m. and snapped or uprooted hundreds of trees in the county, damaging several structures.

At least three Middle Tennessee counties were hit by an EF-1 tornado as a severe storm moved across the region Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
