A woman was shot and killed Thursday afternoon at a QuikTrip gas station in St. Louis, police said. St. Louis Metropolitan Police officers responded to reports of a shooting at around 5 p.m. in the 900 block of South Vandeventer Avenue.

Police said the shooting happened just before 5 p.m. at the QuikTrip at South Vandeventer and Chouteau avenues in the city's Midtown neighborhood.

Police were investigating at the QuikTrip on South Vandeventer. A company spokesperson said the woman was shot elsewhere and drove to the station to get help.
