The No. 1 Boston College Eagles men’s hockey team defeated the Northeastern Huskies 8-2 in the 2025 Beanpot semifinals on Monday night at TD Garden in Boston. The explosive offensive performance not only marked the most goals scored by Boston College in its 2024-25 campaign, but also was the largest margin of victory for the team this season.

Eight players tallied goals for BC, including Ryan Leonard’s NCAA best 23rd, while goalie Jacob Fowler recorded 28 saves.

NU retaliated with a goal at 14:39. Freshman right wing Ben Poitras redirected Jackson Dorrington’s shot from the blue line past Fowler for his first of the season. BC made it 3-1 at 18:29 when defenseman Eamon Powell crashed the left circle and ripped a wrister that beat Whitehead 5-hole for his second of the season.
