When Jeff Trammell was asked about the changes made to the character the showrunner teased viewers should not bring in their prior knowledge about the character. Here is what he said:

We've only seen two episodes of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, but there's already speculation that Norman Osborn will eventually become the Green Goblin. Now, Jeff Trammell has weighed
