The trial of former Spanish football federation chief Luis Rubiales over his unwanted kiss of female soccer player Jennifer Hermoso has started in Madrid.

Rubiales forcibly kissed Hermoso during the ceremony for Spain's World Cup win, which Hermoso said "stained" the celebrations.

Footballer Jenni Hermoso has told a Madrid court that the public kiss planted on her lips by Luis Rubiales during Spain’s 2023 World Cup victory celebrations in Sydney had been “disrespectful”, at the start of the sexual assault trial of the former Spanish federation chief.
