Parts of south Alabama got record-setting amounts of snow on Tuesday. Mobile got 7.5 inches on Tuesday, which shattered its all-time record for snow, which had stood since 1895.
The roof of the Mobile Civic Center collapsed early Wednesday morning under the weight of "excessive snow," according to the city. As of 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, the City of Mobile recorded 7.5 inches of snow. The building was already undergoing demolition and no injuries were reported.
