The Dallas Cowboys will hope to usher in a new era with a coaching staff that will feature several former Indianapolis Colts figures. Taking over the head coach role from Mike McCarthy following his departure this offseason is Brian Schottenheimer,

The Cowboys also considered Browns offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, Falcons tight ends coach Kevin Koger and Lions running backs coach Scottie Montgomery for the job before hiring Adams. Adams takes the job left by Schottenheimer’s promotion after he was elevated to the head coaching position following two seasons as the team’s OC.

According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, the Cowboys also interviewed Detroit Lions running backs coach Scottie Montgomery for their offensive coordinator opening, running the list of interviewed candidates to three coaches overall, including Adams and Falcons tight ends coach Kevin Koger.
