BYD's megawatt charging breakthrough proves that the range wars are alive and well, but also relies quite a bit on infrastructure.

Gravity, especially, is out to prove that EV charging can be both fast and flawless. It reached 40,000 charging sessions in its first year of operation at its flagship charging station in Midtown Manhattan.

China's BYD has unveiled a megawatt charging system that it says can charge an EV as quickly as filling up a fuel tank, and said it will build a network across China, igniting a new super charging race.
