Championship season has come to central Ohio high school basketball. While district tournaments in all seven divisions begin on the girls side this week, some area boys teams clinched league championships last week, including Africentric and Northland in the City League and Hilliard Darby in the OCC-Cardinal.

Growing up in a family of professional basketball players, Buzelis was taught early that there were no shortcuts — lessons that helped prepare him for his rookie season with the Bulls and coach Billy Donovan. And now that he’s figuring things out, the playing time and results have everyone in the organization smiling.

Among boys basketball district title winners were Windermere, The Master’s Academy, Mount Dora Christian Academy, Lake Mary, Bishop Moore, Winter Park, Harmony and Edgewater.
