Feb 21, 2015 · After now having tried 6 Super Champ X2's, every single one of them had issues. That amp is a dog and a class action suit should be filed against Fender by all current owners of them IMHO. My exhaustive search ended last night after I finally got my hands on a Super Champ XD. No issues, whatsoever. Sounds phenomenal.

Aug 2, 2013 · I don't know about the X2, but I have it's older sister "Super Champ XD) and I actualy really like the sound. And the more I turn it up, it sounds better. I did changed the speaker to a Eminence Legend 1058. On low volume the original speaker sounded nice, but when you turn up the amp not so.

Mar 27, 2011 · Not quite a Super champ, but it's basically the same amp without the boost option nor reverb. My pedal board can make up for that, as I just wanted blackface style clean. One bonus from the simplicity is no triple triode compactron just two 12AX7s, two 6V6s.

May 4, 2019 · Also they really sound great with high gain overdrive pedals. The Barber Small Fry through my 68 CTR, Blues Jr, and Silverface Champ sound killer and consistent because of those speakers. All I have to do is turn off the small fry and it's back fender cleans all day. Assuming the 10's are similar flavor in a smaller size...I say pull the trigger.
