Apr 10, 2013 · I think 7000 rpm with a small stroker kit with your 383 is very doable. I've run 383's to 7000 with warmed over 906's 383's are like 340's they just like to rev. B engines always seem to like to rev. My 400 stroked 493 revs to 7500 rpm. Here its launching at 4000 rpm off the brake. This is not a 440 Source kit.

Nov 1, 2010 · my buddy has a challenger, 438 (383 with a 440 crank), stock rods, think its around 10:1, 906 heads with just a little bit of work, .484 cam, six pack, 3:91, and the car is set up for cornering with front and rear sway bars, etc. still manages to run 12.30's through 2 1/2 in exhaust. and it rev's like crazy. and im sure with some real tweaking it could go alot faster.

Nov 16, 2010 · Hi, So far if i buy a junk yard trans 500.00 and build it my self with a kit from monster all strong parts for around 800.00 plus a Quicktime bell housing about 550.00 plus a Transgo-3 manual shift kit around 250.00 plus 100.00 to shorten and balance the driveshaft. I will try to get the yoke with the trans. I have a shifter.

Jan 28, 2014 · This is my build which is a 440 stroked to a 521 and still with internal oiling, it features a source 440 balanced stroker kit and a set of stealth heads with all lunati springs,retainers and 10 deg locks. The cam is a lunati hydraulic flat with .533 int and .555 ex with crane 1.5 golds.

Mar 1, 2009 · Option 2. Build a 489ci stroker with the 383 block (freshly rebuilt and machined .030) with the 440 Source kit, same cam, intake, carb selection, but with template ported 906 heads. I have plugged this combo into Comps cam program, and it tells me I will be putting out about 430hp (XE295HL), this seems a bit low, even with stock heads.
