A member of the Chamber of Deputies since 2006, she has led the right-wing Brothers of Italy political party since 2014 and has been the president of the European Conservatives and Reformists Party since 2020. In 2024, Forbes ranked Meloni as the third most powerful woman in the world and she was listed among the most influential people in the world by Time magazine, while Politico ranked her as the 2025 most powerful person in Europe.
