Controversial opinion: I don't think Stephen King is a very good writer, and "On writing" reflects that. Stephen King is a successful writer, and a very good storyteller. But his writing itself is average at best. Moving on to "On writing": aside from the notorious adverb advice, King basically views writing as quantity over quality.
