Dec 1, 2024 · The synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) was successfully achieved using silver nitrate (AgNO₃) and sodium citrate as the reducing and stabilizing agents. The process involved the addition of sodium citrate solution to a boiling AgNO₃ solution, leading to the reduction of Ag⁺ ions to Ag⁰ and the formation of silver nanoparticles.

Some important physical, chemical and photochemical methods for synthesizing and stabilizing silver NPs. The most popular chemical approaches, including chemical reduction using a variety of organic and inorganic reducing agents, electrochemical techniques, physicochemical reduction, and radiolysis are widely used for the synthesis of silver NPs.
