Peter Paul Montgomery Buttigieg (/ ˈ b uː t ɪ dʒ ə dʒ / ⓘ BOO-tij-əj; [a] born January 19, 1982) is an American politician and former naval officer who served as the 19th United States secretary of transportation from 2021 to 2025.
