Nov 10, 2017 · All kidding aside, after seeing Prometheus so many times, I think the black goo comes from the Engineers seed/dna, not the dna from the Xeno's. In the beginning of the movie an Engineer sacrifices himself to seed a planet, a rather crude way to seed a planet nonetheless.

Jun 12, 2017 · The theatrical cuts of Prometheus and Covenant are Ridley's "Directors Cuts", and we did not have a DC of Alien 3, by the way. The director had nothing to do with the extended cut that was released of A3. Fox asked Ridley for and "extended" cut of Prometheus back in 2012 and he refused because the theatrical version is his “Director’s Cut”.

When watching chapter 6 "Demons in the Dark" there is an Enhancement video that details this."
