Jun 11, 2024 · Dickinson County experienced some flooding following heavy amounts of rainfall last month. From April 10 to June 10, Spirit Lake alone received 15.79 inches of rainfall — more than double the typical amount for the area.

Local voters were tasked with deciding who would be the next District 5 Dickinson County Supervisor, and the unofficial count Tuesday night suggests Levi Markwardt will take the seat. Markwardt received 64 percent of the vote with 1,244 ballots cast in his favor. Candidate Tim Fairchild earned 689 votes for about 36 percent support.
